Year 6 SATs
Year 6 children will be taking their SATs next week and we would remind parents that all children need to be in school on time every day. If, for any reason, your child will not attend on time it is very important that you let school know at the earliest opportunity as alternative arrangements might be available. There will be free toast available for all Year 6 children from 8.40 am on Monday to Thursday next week and children should enter school by the double doors into the area on the side of the Hall.
Ice Cream Sales
Year 1 will be selling ice cream and ice lollies at the following times:
Thursday, 16th May – Year 1 & 2 in the school day
Friday, 17th May – Year 6 in the school day
Tuesday, 21st May – All children accompanied by parents after school on the Infant playground
Wednesday, 22nd May – Year 5 in the school day
Wednesday, 22nd May – All children after school accompanied by parents on the Infant playground
Thursday, 23rd May – Reception children accompanied by parents after school on the Infant playground
Friday, 24th May – Years 3 & 4 in the school day
Items will be priced at 50p for a lolly and 75p for an ice cream. Please send the correct money and Infant children should bring money in a named envelope. Please note the office cannot provide change to parents
Years 1 and 2 Homework
For homework this week, children in Years 1 and 2 are being asked to write a poem to enter into the Young Writers competition. A worksheet will be sent home with more information. All entries need to be back in school by Friday, 17th May, so they can be sent off before the competition closing date.
On Monday, 10th June, at 7.15 pm Stanley Primary School Choir are doing a joint concert with One Voice Community Choir in aid of Alopecia UK. One Voice Community Choir is a very successful gospel choir based in Preston, having been runners up in Gospel Choir of the Year and winners of the Lytham St George’s Day festival two years running. They are guaranteed to brighten your day with an uplifting mix of gospel music and contemporary songs, there may even be a member of the choir familiar to some of you. The concert will be held in the Junior Hall and tickets are £4, available in advance on Parent Pay or on the door.
The Jungle Book
There are still tickets available for the M & M Theatre Productions performance of “The Jungle Book” on Tuesday, 21st May from 5.00 to 6.00 pm in the Junior Hall. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are £3.00 each and can be purchased on Parent Pay. If you do not have on-line access, a bar coded letter can be obtained at the office to pay at the local shop. Tickets will be sent home prior to the performance.
School will close on Friday, 24th May, at 3.15 pm and re-open on Wednesday, 5th June at 8.50 am.
