Lateness

We had 70 lates this week, which is very disappointing. No matter if your child is 2 minutes or 50 minutes late, it has a negative effect on their learning.

If your child is late they must be brought into the Office by yourself and a reason provided.

Thank you to all the parents who regularly bring their children to school on time and well done to Classes 2R and 5C who were the only classes to all arrive on time, all week.

  • Friday 18th March                   Years 3, 4, 5 and 6
  • Monday 21st March                 Reception, Years 1 and 2
  • Tuesday 22nd March               Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

Please have a look at this leaflet which will give you an idea of the types of books available and the prices.

Please note that payment in cash would be preferred, so it would be helpful if you could come with some loose change. However, the ability to pay by card may be available on the day.

The £1 World Book Day Tokens will be sent out with the children on Monday.

Red Nose Day – Next Friday, 18th March 2022

For Red Nose Day this year we are inviting the children to ‘wear something red’ with their uniform – for example a red t-shirt or maybe some red socks, a red bobble etc.

You can purchase a Red Nose from Sainsbury’s, both in-store and online. Each one costs £1.50, with at least 75p going to Comic Relief. You can donate directly at www.comicrelief.com/rednoseday or, alternatively, you can donate via this link on ParentPay. Please do no send any money into school with your child.

Operation Encompass now operates throughout Lancashire police force. It helps police and schools work together to provide emotional and practical help to children. The system ensures that when police are called to an incident of domestic abuse, where there are children in the household who have experienced the domestic incident, the police will inform the school (Miss Manson) before the child or children arrive the following day. This ensures that the school has up to date relevant information about the child’s circumstances and can enable support to be given to the child.
