Northern Taekwondo

We are pleased to confirm that Northern Taekwondo will be back for our Stanley pupils after half term – every Thursday during term time in the Infant Hall straight after school until 4.15pm.

Your child could learn a martial art and progress through the belts. Taekwondo is fantastic for building confidence, self-defence and fitness in a fun environment.

Places are limited and will book up fast! To book your child’s place please contact Master Lee: 07779 275207 / lheyes@aol.com / www.northerntaekwondo.co.uk

Reception Visual Screening

Visual screening for our Reception children will be undertaken by the NHS next week.

COVID Testing

There are different tests you can get to check if you have coronavirus (COVID-19). The test you need depends on why you’re getting tested. Both tests are free.

The two main tests are:

  • PCR tests – mainly for people with symptoms, they’re sent to a lab to be checked
  • Rapid lateral flow tests – only for people who do not have symptoms, they give a result in 30 minutes using a device similar to a pregnancy test

Please be sure to take your child to be tested with a PCR test if they are displaying any of the known symptoms – a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

To order a PCR test call 119 or visit www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

Half Term Break

School will close for our half term break next Friday, 28th May at 3.15pm. School will re-open at 8.45am on Monday 7th June.

Operation Encompass now operates throughout Lancashire police force. It helps police and schools work together to provide emotional and practical help to children. The system ensures that when police are called to an incident of domestic abuse, where there are children in the household who have experienced the domestic incident, the police will inform the school (Miss Manson) before the child or children arrive the following day. This ensures that the school has up to date relevant information about the child’s circumstances and can enable support to be given to the child.
