Welcome back – we hope you have had a wonderful Easter break and we are looking forward to our Summer term ahead.

Competition Win

There was a recent Facebook competition run by Dunelm to win a mini sports set. We are delighted to announce that we won! Many thanks to all that voted for us.

Junior House Point Winners

Congratulations to Blue Team for gaining the most team points last term. As a reward the children of Blue Team are very welcome to come to school in non-uniform next Friday (29th). As Year 6 have PE on a Friday, their day will be Thursday (28th).

Pop Idol

This week we held our annual Pop Idol competition. The standard in all the heats was fantastic, and the final was the best ever.  It was lovely to have the children performing in the hall, even if the audience was much smaller than usual!  Many congratulations to all the participants and well done to Bella in Year 5 who finished first and Billy in Year 6 who was the runner up.  We wish them lots of luck in the Blackpool competition which will be held on Tuesday 10th May.

Parents’ Evening

Further to the text we are hoping to open bookings for our virtual or face-to-face Parents’ Evening on Monday morning and we will send a text when this is ready.

Pirate Phonics – Year 1

An email was sent to the parents/guardians of our Year 1 children today offering places at a family workshop. If you are interested in taking part please click the link in the email to book a space.

School Shoes

Please send your child to school in appropriate footwear. Sandals are not considered part of the Stanley uniform.

School Lunch Menu

New menu from Monday (starting on Week 3).

Operation Encompass now operates throughout Lancashire police force. It helps police and schools work together to provide emotional and practical help to children. The system ensures that when police are called to an incident of domestic abuse, where there are children in the household who have experienced the domestic incident, the police will inform the school (Miss Manson) before the child or children arrive the following day. This ensures that the school has up to date relevant information about the child’s circumstances and can enable support to be given to the child.
