On Thursday, 11th November, we will be holding our whole school History Day “Remembering the War”.  Children will learn about life and events during the World Wars and why we have Remembrance Day.  As in previous years, we would like all children to dress up in the style of either of the wars or in uniform/costume of the time.

Parents’ Evening

Parents’ Evening will take place virtually on 16th and 17th November.  Appointments available will range between 3.30 pm and 5.30 pm.  Appointments will be available to book after half term.

Santa Dash in aid of Brian House – Sunday 5th December

This year the Santa Dash in aid of Brian House Children’s Hospice will take place on Sunday 5th December at 11am.

Jordan’s family will be taking part to raise funds for Brian House Children’s Hospice as the Hospice team were a huge support to Jordan’s family.  The family wish to encourage friends, school and football team mates to take part in this event for Brian House by signing up with the team name JB7 and also adding a number 7 to the back of their Santa suit.   You can sign up to take part here: https://www.trinityhospice.co.uk/our-events/detail/santa-dash/

Blackpool 30 Challenge

Blackpool Council have launched  their Blackpool 30 initiative, encouraging everybody, young and old, to read anything for 30 minutes a day. It doesn’t have to be a book, what’s important is that children and adults are reading and also improving their reading. As a school we love to read throughout the school day and we always encourage you to read with your children at home. As we are supporting the initiative, Stanley has the opportunity to win £1000 worth of books for our libraries.  Please continue to support your child at home over the half-term break.
