Changeable Weather

As the weather is very changeable at the moment, please continue to send your child to school with a coat or jacket every day.

There will hopefully be more sunny days approaching so we would ask that you send your child in with the following items (all clearly named):

  • Sun cream – please apply before school and then your child will need to be able to apply this themselves during the school day (we recommend a roll-on type as they may find this easier to apply)
  • Sun hats
  • Lots of water to drink

Sandals are not appropriate, or safe, footwear for school.

Youth Games

We have had a wonderful week participating in the Blackpool Youth Games at Stanley Park. Our children participated in football, basketball, multi-skills and athletics. They demonstrated fantastic skills, perseverance and determination and we are very proud of them. Special credit must go to the athletics team as we won the overall competition. Well done team Stanley!

Primary Futures

Year 6 children took part in a virtual event yesterday with Primary Futures. Primary Futures work with 100s of volunteers across the country who give up their time to talk to children about their jobs.  Our children asked some fabulous questions to try and establish the volunteers’ careers.  The event initiated great discussion about jobs in the future. Well done Year 6!

Junior Car Park

Please do not try to drive onto the school car park. Please park safely and walk to drop-off or collect children. This includes before/after school for those children taking part in extra tuition.

Lost Property

We have a lot of unnamed, lost property within school. If your child has lost any items please remind them to check the lost property as soon as possible as staff will go through all unclaimed items before summer and we will offer items, (in good condition), to parents.

Operation Encompass now operates throughout Lancashire police force. It helps police and schools work together to provide emotional and practical help to children. The system ensures that when police are called to an incident of domestic abuse, where there are children in the household who have experienced the domestic incident, the police will inform the school (Miss Manson) before the child or children arrive the following day. This ensures that the school has up to date relevant information about the child’s circumstances and can enable support to be given to the child.
