Travelling Book Fair
Thank you to everyone who supported the Travelling Book Fair. Many books were sold and we earned a commission of over £750 to spend on books for our school.
Book Week Competition
During book week we ran a competition for children to upload as many posts as possible to Seesaw, showing that we are readers! We had so many amazing pictures of children reading in different places, fantastic dioramas were created, many children uploaded brilliant videos of them reading a story aloud and there were many outstanding fancy dress book character costumes on World Book Day too.
Due to the great success across the school, we have decided to award everybody with the prize. On Friday 1st April, children will be rewarded with a film afternoon with popcorn and a non-uniform day. Well done to everybody for taking part and all your efforts both at home and in school to make World Book week an amazing success.
If for any reason your child cannot have popcorn, please let the school office/class teacher know.
Well done to our cross-country team. They competed at Stanley Park yesterday against other Blackpool primary schools. We placed 1st in the Year 4 boys and Year 4 girls competition securing the 1st four places in both races. We also placed 1st in the Year 5/6 boys and Year 5/6 girls competition securing 1st and 2nd places. All our pupils performed to a fantastic standard, not only in their running ability but also in their conduct. We are extremely proud of them. A huge thank you to parents and family who came to the park to support the event.
The Young Seasiders exhibition closed today and there will be an 8 page special supplement about it in the Blackpool Gazette on Thursday, 31st March.
As our drinking fountains are still out of use, please ensure that your child brings sufficient drinks to school with them.
Head Lice (Nits)
We have had reports of several cases of head lice within school. Please check your child’s hair, and treat if necessary.
Revoe Learning Academy Coffee Morning
This will be held at Revoe Learning Academy on Wednesday 20th April 2022 from 9.00am until 11.00am – feel free to go along and find out what’s going on in your local area.
Please, as always, stay vigilant for the symptoms of Covid but also bear in mind that we have children testing positive that have experienced more gastro-type symptoms – stomach aches, vomiting, diarrhoea.
The current guidance is to isolate for five days from the start of symptoms. You can do a rapid lateral flow test from 5 days after your symptoms started (or the day you had the test if you do not have symptoms) and another the next day.
To protect the wider Stanley community, please continue to test where necessary and inform us of any positive results. Thank you.
