Jubilee Lunch – 24th May 2022

On Tuesday 24th May there will be a Jubilee lunch for all pupils as part of the Jubilee Celebrations (more information on the celebration day will be provided soon).

If your child does not normally have a school meal and would like a Jubilee Lunch, please book and pay on Parent Pay (no payment is required if you are entitled to Universal Free School Meals (Reception to Year 2) or the Council Free School Meal Benefit) by Tuesday 17th May.

Please note, the meal needs to be selected on Parent Pay – just paying money in does not book the meal. Your child is obviously still welcome to bring a packed lunch with them. Thank you.

Cross Country

We are extremely proud of our cross country team this week as they took part in the Blackpool Schools cross country event at Stanley Park.  The team performed amazingly well, Maisa (Y4), Jazz (Y4), Alisha (Y6) and Josiah (Y6) secured 1st places in their year groups.  Well done to all our runners and a huge thanks to those parents who were able to support us at the event.

Chickenpox and Scarlet Fever

Please can we ask that you stay vigilant for the symptoms of scarlet fever and chickenpox.  There is currently an increase in these contagious infections in England and Public Health have requested that schools and nurseries notify them of any outbreaks/increase in cases.  Information regarding both infections is available here:

Please follow the guidance and keep school informed of any absence.

Blackpool SEND Strategy 2022-2025

The Blackpool SEND Partnership is seeking views on its proposed Special Educational Needs and/or Disability Strategy for 2022-2025 and we would very much welcome the views of Blackpool’s community, including parents and carers and partner organisations.

The strategy sets out the partnership’s vision, priorities, and ways of working. We want to ensure that we work collaboratively with partner organisations and that the voices of children and young people and their families are heard as we reshape services to meet local needs.

Your views will influence the strategy and help to ensure that the priorities match what children and young people in Blackpool with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) need.

The survey will be open until 22 May 2022. To read the draft strategy and have your say, please click on the link below:

Consultations: Blackpool SEND Strategy

There will be some face to face engagement sessions taking place across Blackpool for you to discuss your thoughts on the strategy, dates and venues to be arranged. Keep an eye on the council’s social media pages for more information.

Operation Encompass now operates throughout Lancashire police force. It helps police and schools work together to provide emotional and practical help to children. The system ensures that when police are called to an incident of domestic abuse, where there are children in the household who have experienced the domestic incident, the police will inform the school (Miss Manson) before the child or children arrive the following day. This ensures that the school has up to date relevant information about the child’s circumstances and can enable support to be given to the child.
