Blackpool Libraries Junior History Event
You are invited to this free event which is being held at Palatine Library, Layton Library and Moor Park Library on the following Saturdays in December:-
These are 30 minute Storytime sessions with a costumed character which ties in with Key Stage 2 history projects, although can cover Geography and R.E. elements depending on the subject. During the Storytime there is show and tell with items linked to the story and time period and afterwards a 15 minute question time where the children get to interact with the historical character and think about life in the historical time.
The sessions are aimed at 6-11 years old, but are open to all interested in history.
Year Two Christmas Sewing Afternoon
As part of our design and technology topic this half term the children will be sewing and creating tree decorations. Letters have been sent home with the Year Two children asking for a £2 contribution if you would like their finished product sent home with them.
In addition we would be grateful for any help on the day if you, or anyone in your family, can sew and are available to come in. The decorations will be made on Friday 13th December 2019, between 1:05 pm and 2:45 pm.
Welfare Assistant Vacancy
We currently have a vacancy for a Welfare Assistant to work lunchtime – 11:5 am – 1 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only). Please contact the Infant Office for further details and an application form.
The kitchen will be serving a special Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 11th December. If your child does NOT normally have a school dinner but would like a Christmas one, you can order this through Parent Pay. If your child is an Infant, you will not need to pay for this. The cost for Junior children is £2.30.
These dinners need to be booked by Wednesday 4th December at the latest.
Please note – simply crediting your Parent Pay account does not book a dinner, you need to select Wednesday 11th December as well as pay the balance.
Free Breakfast Census
As part of the ongoing monitoring of the Blackpool Council’s Free School Breakfast Programme in Blackpool, once a term we will be asking pupils attending this school some simple questions regarding what they had for breakfast on a certain date. We will also be using data we hold on children within the school as part of this study.
All information will be aggregated, and no one child, or their answers, will be identifiable within the analysis. If, for any reason, you wish for your child not to take part in the monitoring, can you please let us know, and we will ensure that they are not included.
We have been made aware of some cases of thread worms within school.
Please visit this website for further information: www.nhs.uk/conditions/threadworm
