Covid Update

Thank you for your support this week in terms of covid.  As you will know, the covid infection rate has increased over the holidays and we have a number of positive cases in school in both our pupils and our staff.  It is vital that you keep the children at home if they are displaying any symptoms.  If you are identified as a close contact the guidance is still to lateral flow for seven consecutive days – we fully appreciate the difficulty in accessing lateral flow kits.  Hopefully they will again become more accessible through online orders and through pharmacies very soon.

Please be aware that due to staff isolation your child may not have their usual class teacher each day and inevitably there will be changes in staffing as we progress through the pandemic.  In these challenging times we again ask for your support in being vigilant for symptoms and following the guidance as we want school to continue delivering face-to-face education.

Operation Encompass now operates throughout Lancashire police force. It helps police and schools work together to provide emotional and practical help to children. The system ensures that when police are called to an incident of domestic abuse, where there are children in the household who have experienced the domestic incident, the police will inform the school (Miss Manson) before the child or children arrive the following day. This ensures that the school has up to date relevant information about the child’s circumstances and can enable support to be given to the child.
