The use of technology, including the internet, is an integral element of learning in our school. We are committed to helping keep your child safe whilst they are with us and we hope that you, as parents, will discuss internet safety with your child. We expect all children to act safely and responsibly when using technology both within, and outside of, the school environment.
In school, we use a filtering system to prevent children accessing inappropriate sites. We also have regular ‘on-line safety’ activities to remind children of the importance of keeping themselves safe online. At home, sometimes children can be given unsupervised access to the internet. This, potentially, allows them to access all kinds of society (both good and bad) and bring them virtually into their homes.
Please check this document for help with online safety with any live lessons.
We have also a useful link to help to Prevent Online Radicalisation.
Keep your computer in a shared area: Talk to your child about what they are doing online and, if possible, set up your computer in a shared area at home so that you can all share in the wonderful sites that are available online.
